The challenge with diversifying and growing these supply chains is that they are currently monopolized in a few locations with high barriers to entry. To break this stranglehold, there is the need for cost competitive solutions that can survive, compete, and thrive during normal commodity cycles. Compounding this challenge are rapidly evolving battery chemistries and structural designs which create complicated issues that must be solved by collaboration and innovation.
