Title: Keynote II: Developing a Cost Effective Critical Mineral Supply Chain in a Competitive Market

Description:

The world continues to experience robust growth in the electrified economy with a need for a diversified supply chain of critical minerals which feed the battery industry, are utilized in propulsion systems, make energy storage possible, and are used every day in consumer products. The challenge with diversifying and growing these supply chains is that they are currently monopolized in a few locations with high barriers to entry. To break this stranglehold, there is the need for cost competitive solutions that can survive, compete, and thrive during normal commodity cycles. Compounding this challenge are rapidly evolving battery chemistries and structural designs which create complicated issues that must be solved by collaboration and innovation. The facts come down to one key point: “Costs matter”.
